🌊 How difficult is the descent? Rivers are classified from I to VI according to their level of technical difficulty 🧭.

On the Chiny–Lacuisine and Chiny–Chassepierre sections, the Semois does not exceed class I (easy) 💧 — ideal for beginners and leisurely trips 🛶.

⚠️ This classification applies to normal water flow. Remember to check the river level and current speed before setting off 🌦️ to ensure a safe descent 🦺

⚠️Navigation conditions on the Semois

Conditions on the Semois can change quickly 🌊.

In the event of heavy rain or prolonged drought, navigation may be prohibited:

💧 Water level too low: the Semois is closed if the average over the last 72 hours is less than 1.5 m³/s.
🌊 Water level too high: the Semois is also closed if the average over the last 72 hours exceeds 31 m³/s (danger).
